Contract Multidisciplinary Providers

OPD is seeking a multidisciplinary providers to assist with social services, investigation, mitigation, and other discreet needs on a contract basis, for clients in Criminal District Court, Magistrate Court, Juvenile Court, and Municipal and Traffic Court.  

OPD provides holistic, community-based representation for low income New Orleanians. We represent thousands of people each year utilizing a client-centered defense model that puts the client first and takes a 360-degree approach to our advocacy and representation. We recognize our clients are unique individuals and work to address their needs both in the court and out.

The contract multidisciplinary providers work with OPD’s Contract Conflict Attorneys, to provide more holistic representation and increase outcomes for their clients. Social workers, investigators, mitigation specialists, client advocates, and others with specialized skills that would benefit the defense team are encouraged to apply. The service provider will provide critical and necessary holistic defense team services to our low-income clients facing misdemeanor, felony, delinquency, or Child-In-Need-of-Care charges. 

Qualifications: Ideal candidates must be interested in serving underserved and marginalized communities from diverse cultural, racial and socioeconomic backgrounds. This position requires knowledge of the criminal legal system and various intersecting systems. Providers must be able to work independently to meet client and client case needs, must be an excellent communicator, and provide thorough case work and documentation.

Providers must have at least one year of practical experience, and appropriate licensure or eligibility in Louisiana.
