Reentry Legal Clinic New 2021 Dates Third Wednesdays

What began as a way to meet the continued needs of our clients has grown into a robust, community-focused Re-Entry Legal Clinic.

Re-Entry and Expungement Legal Clinics Have Reopened!  Starting July 21st, clinics are hosted twice a month from 5:00 pm-7:00 pm at 4035 Washington Ave, New Orleans, LA 70125. Re-Entry Clinics will be held on the third Wednesday of each month starting on 7/21/21, and Expungement Clinics will be held on the fourth Wednesday of each month starting 7/28/21. Please contact Justice and Accountability Center of Louisiana for more information, necessary documents and forms, and help navigating the process. Masks are required for service.

What Is An Expungement?

An expungement is a court-ordered process to clear the record of an arrest, charge or criminal conviction. While it doesn’t fully destroy the record, it removes the record from public access. An expunged record is confidential, but remains available to law enforcement and criminal justice agencies.

Expunging records removes one of the most difficult barriers to reentry and employment. This exponentially increases the likelihood of someone being able to find work, housing, school or training.

Once a month, we partner with the Justice and Accountability Center and Southeast Louisiana Legal Services to offer expungement services.

Attorneys and Client Advocates help gather needed case information and fill out necessary paperwork to apply for expungement.
