Human Resources Director

The Orleans Public Defenders Office (OPD) is seeking a Human Resources Director.

JOB SUMMARY: Under supervision of the Chief Administrative Officer, the HR Director will oversee all human resources operations including, but not limited to compensation, benefit administration, paid time off, recruitment, new hire onboarding and training, management and staff training, record keeping, and personnel policy development and administration.

The HR Director will work with OPD’s Leadership Team in coordinating hiring, salary determinations and adjustments, and staff terminations. The HR Director will maintain all personnel records, ensuring all employment documents are current and safeguarded. The HR Director will ensure compliance with employment laws, government agencies and company policies and procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants must possess a minimum of three years of human resources management experience in an organization with 50 plus employees. Applicants must be highly organized with excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing. Additionally, applicants will possess strong interpersonal and presentation skills. Ideal candidates will demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness with attention to detail as well as the ability to work independently and prioritize. Proficiency with MS Office applications is a must.
